Only tags: Those whose brains prefer less structure can ignore folders entirely and rely solely on tags. You can nest folders, just like in the Finder, making it easy to construct comprehensive hierarchical filing systems, such as with a folder called Money and subfolders for Banking and Taxes. Only folders: If you’re highly organized, think hierarchically, and automatically separate everything you do into separate mental buckets, folders may be sufficient on their own. There are three basic ways of organizing notes, and which one works best for you depends on how you think: However, a note can exist in only a single folder at a time, whereas you can add as many tags to a note as you want. Tags are like folders in that they enable you to add another level of organization to your notes. Note Tagsįirst off, what’s a tag and why would you use one? Tags are just words, prefixed with a hash mark (#), which explains why they’re also often called hashtags. While skin overtone can change based upon factors such as sun exposure, illness, or blood pressure, your undertone is defined by genetics and will never change.ĭetermine your undertone using one of the following three tests: Skin undertone is determined by three elements: hemoglobin, carotene, and melanin. Basically, it involves looking beyond your skin color to discover the undertone that gives definition to your looks. Determine whether you are a COOL or a WARM type Thanks to Carole Jackson’s simplified theory, discovering your season is pretty straightforward: Step 1. Making 4 Season Color Analysis Work For You This made it vastly more straightforward for everyday women to shop for appropriate clothes, accessories, and makeup. In it, she simplified Caygill’s seasonal system (which used sixteen different personalities per season), and reduced it to a single personality per color season. Carole Jacksonįinally, psychologist Carole Jackson wrote the book “Color Me Beautiful”, which became wildly popular in the 1980’s. This theory proved to be extremely popular and became the foundation for many color professionals. Her own theory asserted that humans carry information about their personality and style in their natural coloration, and that through personal traits such as skin, hair, and eyes we can relate personal colors to those found in nature. Suzanne CaygillĬalifornia-based color theorist Suzanne Caygill (1911-1994) took the next step by combining Itten’s “season theory” with Goethe’s “color psychology”. These made it much easier for students to paint more attractive portraits. He then created four different color palettes corresponding to the four seasons, each of which included four different complexions. Johannes Ittenīetween 19, Johannes Itten (Swiss painter and professor at the Bauhaus University in Germany) took things a step further when he concluded that portraits look better when certain colors were used in conjunction with specific hair and skin tones. The seed of color analysis was planted when German philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) realized the connections between different colors and created “color psychology”. But that was just a beginning, there was no mention yet of the connection and reaction between the color of clothes and skin tone. However, the current value of the dipolar moment (7.7 10^22 A The presence of the reversal patches at the CMB seems to be characteristic during the preparation phase of a geomagnetic transition. In addition, we demonstrate that the quadrupole field mainly controls this reversal patch along with the rapid decay of the dipolar field. Our results reveal that one of the reversed polarity patch located at the CMB under the South Atlantic Ocean is growing with a pronounced rate of −2.54♱05 nT per century and with western drift. In this paper we carry out a detailed study about this issue using the most recent models that also include data from the last ESA mission Swarm. Several studies associate this anomaly as an indicator of an upcoming geomagnetic transition, such an excursion or reversal. Its extent area at the Earth’s surface is continuously growing since the intensity instrumental measurements are available covering part of the Southern Hemisphere and centered in South America. Final wordsĪll things considered, Mazaika comes packed with several handy features for helping you design your own mosaic pictures. Advanced users are not going to be disappointed by the fine-tuning parameters which help them customize mosaic images in detail. Mazaika gives you the possibility to create a random mosaic, perform batch actions for generating multiple mosaic pictures at the same time, zoom in or out of the current photo, and view the target and source image. You may adjust the sharpness, contrast, brightness, and saturation, as well as set the size of the tiles. You can enhance the quality of photos by tweaking several editing parameters. When it comes to output settings, the progam lets you draw or hide a grid, apply color corrections, blend tile colors, add colorful borders, adjust the resolution, and sharpen tiles. The mosaic photo can be exported to JPG, TIFF, BMP, HTML, or other file format. You may save the current project to a file on your computer so you can import it in the future. Plus, you can paste photos from the clipboard or acquire them via TWAIN devices. Mazaika lets you work with a wide range of file formats, such as DIB, GIF, PCD, RGB, SCR, TGA, TIFF, WIN, JPG, PPM, and PSD. What’s more, the tool lets you filter the files by extension, such as BMP, JPG, GIF, ICO, TIF, PCX, PSD, and DIB, set the tile proportions that you want to use (square, portrait, or landscape), crop white borders from pictures, and specify the saving directory where the tile database is kept. You can select the directory where the images are stored and include subfolders. You are welcomed by a step-by-step approach that allows you to define several aspects about the mosaic pictures. Mazaika is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to help you create mosaic images which contain many small photos. LDCad and LeoCAD can also be used with Linux operating systems.Ĭonsidering they are 3D software, all of them run smoothly, even on an old computer like mine. LDCad is Windows based, Bricksmith is Mac based, and LeoCAD can be used on both. LeoCAD – LDCad – Bricksmithĭepending on your computer, you may choose to use the LDraw Parts Library with any of these programs. However, they mention on their site that modeling new parts is a hard process, and since they work with volunteers, it may take a while for a certain part to be released. It may feel 6 months is a long time, but considering LEGO does not release new parts (new moulds, that is) every other week, I think it’s pretty updated as it is. The last parts update was in December 2018. However, it offers a vast library, over 7,400 LEGO parts, and can be integrated into other software. Apparently it was a DOS based program, and didn’t have a graphical user interface, which made it hard to use. LDrawĪccording to the LDraw website, the LEGO design software called LDraw is no longer featured. While it may not seem that big, it creates certain limits.Īll in all, LDD is a great software for beginners – and for those with patience. For example, if you’re designing an interior space, and have a table with tile finishes, you can’t put anything on top of it, because there are no studs to click onto. The biggest disadvantage of the software is that the parts need to “click” as you build. Fortunately, there is a very informative help file which tells you how to do what if you ever get stuck. All of the commands available in the software are shown on-screen and in the pull-down menus – with one important exception: Pan view. The user interface is simple and easy to get used to. Then you have to go through the same process all over again. Once all the parts are loaded, its speed improves, but only until you open a new document. However, this extensive library is also one of LDD’s disadvantages, since it slows down the software. Even though the LEGO Group has announced they will not update the software anymore, some parts have been added to the library since. You can use any color with any part you like.īeing the official LEGO design software, LDD’s parts library is probably one of the most extensive ones. The second one has limited parts, so I’m guessing it only uses the LEGO Mindstorms parts. The first one only lets you use the physically available colors. LDD gives you three different options before you start: LEGO Digital Designer, LEGO Mindstorms and LEGO Digital Designer Extended. Let’s start with the big fish, shall we? The one and only official LEGO design software, LEGO Digital Designer (LDD)! As with all software, they have minimum requirements to run, but most computers, old and new, are capable of running them without any problems. Luckily, none of the programs we will look at today are quite as complex. They occupy quite a large amount of space on the harddisk, and won’t run smoothly unless your graphics card and RAM fulfill their minimum requirements. For those of you who are not familiar with these, let me tell you they are among the modeling and animation industry’s finest and most complex software. Today, we will take a look at some of them and try to decide which is the best LEGO design software.ģD modeling always fascinated me, and I even had a chance to work with software like Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk 3ds Max, and Autodesk Maya in and outside of school. Even though their purpose is the same, like all similar software, their features and interfaces are different. There are a few software for designing digital models using LEGO bricks. 7/26/2023 0 Comments Comet data for skychartObserve when the moon does not interfere and attempt to observe AFTER midnight for most meteors to be seen!įebruary 26 - DELTA LEONID METEORS - When the moon is full on both days on either side of this date of this minor meteor shower it will prove to be a very poor year for observing the Delta Leonid meteors (or any meteors) it one is the the only meteor shower that February has to offer each year. In most cases, you’ll have full aspect-ratio control with 480i and 480p sources (generally standard TV and progressive-scan DVD, respectively), but often you get fewer options, or none at all, for HDTV resolutions (720p, 1080i, or 1080p). Almost every HDTV has aspect-ratio control, but most sets available today limit the number of choices you have, depending the incoming resolutions. Not every aspect-ratio choice will be available at every resolution. Many DVD players have Zoom functions, and all can be set to work with both 4:3 and 16:9 TVs, but few have additional aspect-ratio controls. In general, all wide-screen HDTVs, most HDTV set-top boxes, and a few new 4:3 TVs can control aspect ratio in some way. But they will work only if your TV–or the video source, be it a satellite tuner, cable box, or DVD player–has aspect-ratio control. The next two pages suggest several solutions to common aspect-ratio problems. Make sure your new TV has aspect-ratio control.Video sources attached to these models should be (counterintuitively) set to 16:9, because they’re designed to display the full vertical resolution of a wide-screen image within the letterboxed area. The one exception is for 4:3 TVs that offer a feature called vertical compression or anamorphic squeeze. Make sure you set each device to the setting that matches the TV to which it’s attached: 4:3 for standard TVs, 16:9 for wide-screen monitors (nearly all HDTVs). Most modern video sources–DVD players, game consoles, satellite and cable boxes, DVRs, and even the video iPod–have an aspect-ratio setting. Make sure your video settings match your TV’s aspect ratio. Some critical caveats:īefore we examine the details of those aspect-ratio problems and solutions, it’s important to affirm five key points: But as soon as you try to watch 4:3 content on a wide-screen monitor or 16:9 content on a 4:3 TV, you need to make some choices as to how you’ll compromise. On the other hand, 16:9 is the native aspect ratio of most HDTV programming it is 78 percent wider than it is tall, or fully one-third wider than 4:3.Īt comparable screen sizes, the wide-screen image is a distinct improvement: it offers a larger image, and the horizontal orientation is more akin to how your eyes–next to each other, not on top of one another–view objects.īoth of these formats work perfectly well when they match the TV screen’s native aspect ratio–standard programming on a 4:3 screen (any 1950s to 1990s Nick at Nite fare, for instance) and any newer, wide-screen material on a 16:9 set (HDTV programming or most DVDs). All the older TVs and computer monitors you grew up with had the squarish 4:3 shape–only 33 percent wider than it was high. The two most common aspect ratios in home video are 4:3 (also known as 4×3, 1.33:1, or standard) and 16:9 (16×9, 1.78:1, or wide-screen). The concept is simple enough: aspect ratio is the fractional relation of the width of a video image compared to its height. |
